Social Action
Social Action
EBJC has a vibrant social action community.
Unfortunately, many of our typical activities have been put on hold during the Covid pandemic. We look forward to relaunching our work after EBJC is re-opened.
Normally, we collect non-perishable food items for the Kosher Food Pantry and are one of the largest supplies of food items to the JFS pantry.
Every month we focus on a different collection of items for the poor and needy. It ranges from coats, to paper goods, to linens, towels and bedding. We bring the items to the appropriate organization where they are given to those in need.
We make soup for the Stein Hospice Center every month with adult volunteers and with our Kesher students. The soup is then packed up into quart containers and delivered to the residents of the hospice center.
Once a year, we hold a “Mitzvah Day” where we focus on EBJC beautification. Volunteers will be seen painting classrooms, planting annuals and perennials around the grounds, repairing fences, cleaning out closets, organizing supply rooms and kitchens, and so much more!
We are always open to suggestions and are more than eager to fill a need for the community - please reach out to Eric at ericr@nurturemarketing.com if you have any ideas or would like to get involved.
