Maya Baskind
"Hi! I’m Maya Baskind. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at East Brunswick High School. I grew up at EBJC. I attended the preschool here, became a Bat Mitzvah here, graduated from the Kesher program, participated in Chaverim/Kadima, and have regularly attended services and events at EBJC with my family. This is my third year on the EBUSY board and I am currently the Vice President of Membership and Programming. I also assist our youth advisor, Erin Kaplan, with Chaverim/Kadima. Over the years, I have helped at EBJC events like the Purim carnival, babysitting during the high holidays, and a family movie night. Outside of EBJC, I volunteer with EB Youth Council and TOP Soccer, where I play soccer with kids who have special needs. I am also a peer leader with Sources Of Strength at EBHS. Other hobbies of mine include singing, acting, art, and crocheting. EBJC has always been a huge part of my life, so I’m honored to be chosen as Youth of the Year.
