.On Sunday, November 23, members of EBJC spent the day touring the Lower East Side of NYC.  We started at the Eldridge Street Synagogue Museum, followed by a walking tour of the neighborhood. We visited   Kehilla Kedosha Janina (the only Romaniote shul in the Western hemisphere). Home to Marty Genee and family growing up. We then proceeded to the Tenement Museum at 97 Orchard Street to visualize what life was likefor Jewish immigrants in the early 1900s.  It was an incredible day to learn about our heritage and be together as a community.

On November 2 EBJC hosted a wonderful event honoring the legacy of Jules Frankel. Jules was a champion of Jewish music in our community and far beyond. The event was attended by over 100 people who were moved and inspired by this tribute. Many thanks to Susan Frankel for spearheading and sponsoring this event in honor of the 10^th yahrzeit of her husband, Jules z’l.
