Guest Artist: David Rabinowitz – 2019 Oscar Winner for Best Adapted Screenplay with Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott, and Spike Lee

Writer’s Workshop:

On Thursday, July 25th, from 7:00PM to 10:00 PM, Oscar winner David Rabinowitz will deliver a Writer’s seminar for aspiring screenwriters entitled “So You Want to Be a Screenwriter”.   Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas with David for comment.  David will take the audience through the sometime convoluted and illogical process of the transformation from wanting to be a screenwriter to becoming one. The venue, open to the public and EBJC members, will be held at the East Brunswick Jewish Center at 511 Ryders Lane. Attendance will be limited to 10 participants from EBJC and 20 participants from the public. The public will be charged $36 per person, but admission will be free for EBJC members and their families. You must have a ticket to enter and we reserve the right to examine all bags upon entry.

Shabbat dinner:

Follwing traditional services at 6:00 PM, on Friday, July 26th from 6:45-10:00 P.M., Oscar winner David Rabinowitz will attend Shabbat dinner followed by services.  At 6:45 PM, the parents of Charlie Wachtel and David Rabinowitz, Shirley and Eric, will present The Experience of a Lifetime: Stories from the Oscars. Shirley and Eric will tell their unique stories from the most surreal experience of their lives as parents of Oscar winners. Following the presentations, the congregation will share a Shabbat meal and services where Rabbi Pivo will facilitate a Q&A session and take questions from the congregation.  Dinner is $36.00 a person and as always services are free.  You must have a ticket to enter and we reserve the right to examine all bags upon entry.  Click here to register. https://vzit.co/Oscar-Shabbat

 

Movie:

On Sunday, July 28th, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, the movie BlacKkKlansman will be featured at the East Brunswick Jewish Center and followed by a Q&A session with Oscar and BAFTA winner David Rabinowitz  Admission is Free.  We are asking for an optional donation of $10.00 per person to be collected at the entrance to the showing.  You must have a ticket to enter and we reserve the right to examine all bags upon entry.  Click here to register. https://vzit.co/Oscar-Movie

 

Reception:

Following the showing of BlacKkKlansman and the Q&A on Sunday, July 28, at 4:30 PM the East Brunswick Jewish Center will host a reception honoring David Rabinowitz. Chocolate will be served along with a selection of wines provided by the Mitzvah Corps. At the reception you will have the opportunity to speak with David in a more intimate setting. Please register separately for each event you want to attend.  Deadline for registration is July 22.  For security concerns there will be no tickets sold at the door for any of these events.  If you do not have a ticket you will not be admitted.  If you cannot register online, please call the EBJC office at 732-257-7070
