Thank you to Sarina Feldman for her fascinating demonstration of Greek Passover recipes. Sarina's comments about Jewish life growing up in a town in Greece were fascinating and enlightening. Who knew the Sepharadim consider potatoes to be hametz? Not only did Serena graciously volunteer her time during the stressful lead up weeks to Passover, but it was also the day before her son Baruch leaves for his postdoctoral fellowship in Ireland. Thank you to valet parker Gerald Feldman. Keep an eye out for an article and photos of the event in the Home News.

Sarina's Delicious Greek Charoset (looks more like mortar than the run of the mill apple and walnut variety)
- 1 tablespoon orange rind
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup crushed walnuts
- 1/4 cup pitted dates
- 3 pitted prunes
- 2 dried pear halves
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- juice of 2 fresh oranges (about 1 cup).
Soak raisins for 1 minute in boiling water to soften and then drain. Place everything in blend and blend until pureed.
